This procedure is done to improve the look and feel of the labia minora (exterior of the vagina). It is primarily done for patients who have been through pregnancy and childbirth. It is also done to correct any pain and discomfort that may occur during intercourse due to an oversized labia. These corrections are accomplished by removing excess tissue in that area and reshaping what remains into a youthful, healthy, and appealing form. It is normal for the labia to become slackened after the processes of pregnancy and giving birth. Dr Paydar’s Labiaplasty procedures can resolve the problems that this may present to the confidence of any woman who is embarrassed about the current appearance of her labia.
Who is a Candidate?
Any woman who is embarrassed about the appearance of her labia may visit with Dr Paydar to discuss the potential Labiaplasty procedure available to help restore her confidence in intimacy. As with all procedures done by Dr Paydar, it is important for potential patients to have stable mental and physical health before the procedure can be done. Women who are experiencing pain during intercourse due to an oversized labia are candidates for this procedure as well.
Prior to the surgery, Dr Paydar will consult with you to determine the best strategy for your personalized procedure. When all variables and end goals are clearly understood, anesthesia will be administered to treat the naturally occurring pain of the operation. Depending on your situation, surgical scalpels or lasers will be used to remove excess tissue from the labia area. Upon completion of the removal process, all incisions will be properly sutured and dressed.
After My Surgery
Dr Paydar will present you with specific hygiene instructions to ensure a healthy recovery of the treated area. Due to the location and nature of the Labiaplasty procedure, Dr Paydar will consistently monitor your recovery process to ensure everything is going as expected. It is normal to experience discomfort and swelling in the areas of incision while going through your recovery. You can expect to return to daily routine activities after a few days and return to work within a week. It is imperative that you refrain from sexual intercourse for up to six weeks. Complete healing may take up to three months.
